Open Image Resizer safely.

Apple’s message means the independently distributed app has not been notarized by Apple. It does not mean Apple found malware in the app.

Before you continue

Continue only when you downloaded Image Resizer from resizer.monochrome.digital. If the source is uncertain, delete that copy and download it again from the official page.

The app’s source code and public release history are available on GitHub, and the current release includes a SHA-256 checksum for verification.

macOS 15 or newer

  1. Open the DMG and drag Image Resizer into Applications.
  2. Try opening Image Resizer once, then choose Done in the verification message.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll to Security.
  4. Choose Open Anyway, authenticate, then choose Open.

macOS 14

  1. Open the DMG and drag Image Resizer into Applications.
  2. In Applications, Control-click Image Resizer and choose Open.
  3. Choose Open again in the confirmation dialog.

You only need to confirm the app once. Future launches work normally.

Why the warning appears

Image Resizer is distributed outside the Mac App Store and is not Apple-notarized. It processes selected images locally, publishes its source code, and delivers updates from its public GitHub release repository.
